LANE COUNTY, Oregon - Authorities are on the scene of an active fire in the area of Prairie Rd. and Meadowview Rd. near Junction City. Law Enforcement personnel have closed Hwy. 99 between Meadowview Rd. and Hwy. 36 north of Eugene until the fire can be controlled. Several area side streets are also closed at this time due to the fire. Fire crews are actively working to put out the fire. Some area residents have been impacted by the fire and have evacuated. At this time we have received no reports of injuries or lost structures.

Authorities ask that you avoid the area as we are still working to get the situation contained and safe. The Lane County Sheriff's Office is working in conjunction with the Oregon State Police and the Junction City Police Department to provide traffic control, make notifications to property owners and assist several local fire departments as they work to control the active fire.
