MCMINNVILLE, Oregon - On 06/05/21 at approximately 1500 hours, McMinnville Police officers responded to the 900 block of NE 2nd Street regarding a disturbance call. Once on scene officers determined that the incident involved a verbal argument between two adult males identified as Estevan Pacheco and David Blewett. After interviewing David, contacting additional witnesses and other involved parties, officers established probable cause to arrest Estevan for using an electric stun device to stun David several times. Estevan was no longer at the scene when the police arrived and officers were unable to locate him.

At approximately 1630 hours, McMinnville Police officers responded to the same location regarding a shooting call, involving the same parties. Upon arrival officers received information that Estevan had returned to the location and discharged a handgun, multiple times, at David, striking him with at least one round. Estevan was again reported to have left the scene before police arrival. Medical aid was provided to David and he was subsequently transported to an area hospital due to his injuries.

On 6/6/21 at approximately 6 a.m., after extensive follow up by officers and Detectives, Estevan Pacheco (40 years old) was located at a residence in Independence and with the assistance of the Oregon State Police, was taken into custody and lodged at the Yamhill County Jail on the following Yamhill County Circuit Court charges:

Attempted Murder, Assault I and Unlawful Use of a Stun Gun – SRA $155,000.00. Additional charges are pending.

Anyone who may have witnessed either incident or has additional information is encouraged to contact Sgt. Scott Fessler or Sgt. Cully Desmond at the McMinnville Police Department non-emergency phone number (503) 434-6500.
