PORTLAND, Oregon - Police say Friday afternoon, officers were sent to Northeast Prescott Street and Northeast 33rd Avenue on a report of shots fired.

Police investigators are asking for help to determine who shot and critically injured a person who was dropped off at a hospital. The victim has so far been unidentified by authorities, even if male or female, making it difficult for the public to help.

On Friday, May 7, 2021 at 3:33p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the area of Northeast Prescott Street and Northeast 33rd Avenue. When officers arrived they located evidence of gunfire and began an investigation.

A short time later in a separate incident, an off-duty officer reported seeing a gunshot victim dropped off at Legacy Emanuel Hospital, 2801 North Gantenbein Avenue. The Officer drove to the hospital to learn that the victim was critically injured.

Police report that their Enhanced Community Safety Team responded to investigate and believe the two incidents are connected.
