|Witnesses point cops to suspected McMinnville bank robber||Ashton Lay faces multiple charges|

The suspect entered the bank and presented a note demanding money from the teller. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the bank on foot. The suspect was described as a white male in his 20's, wearing a bright yellow shirt. The first patrol unit arrived in the area less than a minute after being dispatched. Alert witnesses outside of the bank were able to let officers know that the suspect had taken off his shirt and went south on McDaniel Lane. Shortly after, officers contacted the suspect in Wortman Park and took him into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Ashton Lay of McMinnville.
Lay was taken to the Yamhill County Jail on one count of 2nd-degree robbery and one count of 1st-degree Theft pending arraignment.
