FINDLAY – An Oregon man accused of leading law-enforcement agents on a high-speed vehicle pursuit after fleeing from a domestic violence scene apparently drowned when he drove a sport-utility vehicle into a pond, authorities said.

Trevor Clark, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:48 p.m. Sunday at a pond behind the Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies building in the 500 block of Marathon Boulevard, according to Findlay police.

Police said they responded about 3:05 a.m. Sunday to assist the Ohio Highway Patrol with a pursuit of a sport-utility vehicle that was entering the city, east on West Sandusky Street.

The pursuit continued in the city, with speeds between 85 and 95 miles per hour. The pursuit eventually returned to West Sandusky, where the vehicle turned off its headlights as it drove west, gaining distance in the 700 blocks, according to a news release issued Monday by police.
