DALLAS, Oregon - At just before 6 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021, Sheridan, SW Polk and West Valley personnel were sent to a house fire on Laura Lane just outside of the City of Dallas. Crews arrived to find a separate two-car garage, with converted living quarters on the second floor, completely involved with flames and smoke.

The structure was evacuated before our crew's arrival. Despite the crews best efforts, the structure was a total loss. Our crews were assisted by mutual aid partners from Polk Fire District #1 and Dallas Fire & EMS. The crews were able to prevent any major damage to the adjacent home. There was a person with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Sheridan, SW Polk and West Valley crews would like to thank the firefighter rehabilitation crews from Dallas Fire and EMS. They ensure that firefighting crews stay hydrated and healthy while they work. We would also like to thank all the other mutual aid partners for their assistance, including, Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office, Dallas Police Department, and Polk County Sheriff's Office.
