Solidarity for Asian American communities | The rise in racial violence |

PORTLAND, Ore. – Over two dozen Oregon leaders are standing in solidarity with Asian American communities amid an increase in racial violence targeting those communities nationwide.
In a letter signed by 25 Oregon leaders, officials expressed support for Asian American communities while also condemning anti-Asian hate and violence.
The letter offered condolences to the families of those killed in the recent shootings in Atlanta.
"Racism, hate, xenophobia, and gender-based violence are unacceptable," the letter said, in part. "We recognize the pain, trauma, and fear that many are feeling in the aftermath of the Atlanta shootings. And we condemn the racism that has led to acts of hate, including violent attacks, against people of Asian descent." Read full story
