New Year's Morning Shooting Victims Identified

PORTLAND, Oregon - The victims of an early morning New Year's Day shooting in the Argay Terrace Neighborhood are identified as Andre Lashun Foster, 43, and his son, Quayan Johnell Foster, 21, both of Portland.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office determined their cause and manner of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. The Foster family has been notified and they provided the attached pictures for public release. The family requests privacy as they mourn.

Two victims are deceased in a shooting in the Argay Terrace Neighborhood.

On Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 1:47a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 4400 block of Northeast 131st Place. When they arrived, they located three male victims. Paramedics arrived and found one of the victims had died on scene. Another was transported to the hospital but did not survive. A third male victim was transported by ambulance. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. No suspects were immediately located and no arrests have been made at this time.

During the investigation, Northeast 131st Avenue is closed between Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast Prescott Drive. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
