Portland Police Detectives are continuing to investigate this morning's burglary in Southeast Portland. At this point in the investigation, detectives have learned that the suspect entered the apartment through an unlocked window and no items were taken during this break-in.
The suspect was armed with a knife as he confronted the 14-year-old girl who was sleeping in her bed. She was able to fight off the suspect and did not receive any injuries during the struggle. The suspect fled out the same window he entered and disappeared into the neighborhood.
Although the victim was not sexually assaulted, because of the nature of the incident, Sex Crimes Detectives have been assigned the case.
