SALEM, Oregon - Shortly before 2:00 this afternoon, a 911 caller reported seeing a body in Mill Creek at Cascade Gateway Park, 2100 Turner Rd SE. Fire and police personnel responded to the scene where it was determined the person was deceased. The decedent has been removed from the creek and there is no obvious sign of foul play.
He was identified today as 38 year old Mark David Kile. Kile had been camping in the area. Next of kin have been notified. An autopsy was performed today and the manner of death was determined to be accidental drowning. The man's identity still has not yet been positively determined. Detectives will continue to work seeking an identification.
