New Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette President and CEO Starts Today

PORTLAND, - Stacy James starts today as Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette's (PPCW) new President and CEO. James is the sixth President and CEO in the affiliate's 50-year history. She comes to Oregon from her position as President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Montana, where she led significant affiliate improvements over the past 11 years.

James now oversees PPCW's 10 health centers in Oregon and SW Washington and an education department teaching more than 1,500 youth annually. She takes the helm as PPCW embarks on several critical new initiatives, including preparations for implementing the Affordable Care Act and launching Electronic Health Records, all while continuing to serve more than 60,000 patients in Oregon and SW Washington each year. Additionally, PPCW will celebrate its 50th Anniversary as an organization this fall.

James is a proven leader who is committed to expanding access to affordable health care and education, and advocating on behalf of women's health. PPCW's staff and Board of Directors are thrilled to bring such a dynamic, experienced health care executive to the organization and to the Portland community.

James looks forward to meeting local leaders and expanding Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette's partnerships in the wider community.

James has a B.S. in Allied Health Services from the University of North Florida and an MBA from the University of Montana.


Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is the largest non-profit family planning and reproductive rights organization in Oregon and SW Washington. Since 1963, PPCW has successfully carried out its mission of providing, promoting and protecting access to quality reproductive and sexual health care. Each year, approximately 60,000 women, men and teens visit one of PPCW's ten health centers. PPCW provides a wide range of education programs and health care services, including life-saving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, emergency contraception, gynecological check-ups and Pap tests, breast exams, pregnancy testing and options information, and health counseling.
