Grants Pass man killed in two vehicle crash in Josephine County

GRANTS PASS, Oregon - On Saturday, December 29, 2018, at approximately 9:37 A.M.. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 238.

Police say that a Subaru Forester, operated by 34-year-old Eric Maddox of Grants Pass swerved to avoid a deer crossing the road. The Subaru left its lane, over corrected, and entered the opposing lane of traffic. The Subaru collided with an oncoming Ford Ranger, operated by 63-year-old Robert Culton of Williams, OR.

Maddox was killed in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Culton was taken by ambulance to Three Rivers Community Hospital for injuries.

Hwy 238 was closed for approximately 2 hours.
