Bloody Trail Leads To One Person Injured in Northwest Portland

On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 8:42 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of shots fired in the area of the 300 block of Northwest 20th Avenue.

Officers arrived in the area and spoke to witnesses who reported hearing several gunshots in the area. Officers conducted an area check and found a blood trail that led them to a nearby apartment where officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers immediately rendered the man medical aid until the emergency medical responders arrived and transported the victim by ambulance to a Portland area hospital for treatment of what was believed to be a serious but non-life threatening injury.

Officers, with the assistance of the Portland K-9 Unit, conducted a neighborhood search but did not locate any suspects and there is no suspect information to provide to the public at this time.

Preliminary information suggests there is not believed to be an immediate danger posed to the public in relation to this shooting.
