Hit And Run Accident

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A female driver who stuck a teenage boy has turned herself in to police to say she was the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed an 18-year-old Cassidy Ringwald, an Oregon resident, while he was walking along a street with his sister.

Washington County sheriff's deputies said the woman has not been charged but the death remains under investigation.

Ringwald's sister said they were walking on the shoulder of a street in residential Portland Thursday evening when her brother was hit from behind and thrown more than 15 feet into the middle of an intersection.

Several people came to Ringwald's aid, performing CPR before medics arrived. He was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland where later died.
