Does Synapse Global have leadership problems with their Web Hosting or Colocation

Does Synapse Global have leadership problems?

Story: Scott Wittenberg and Synapse Global

January 25 2010

- OPINION -

While there are some very good bandwidth providers, web hosting companies, collocation providers, there are many questionable people in bandwidth land.

If our readers are correct, one questionable company exists right here in Oregon. Scott Wittenberg is president of Synapse Global Corporation a very small web hosting company. They received the votes, mainly, it seems, for Scott allegedly overcharging his customers, double charge them, or placing customer charges onto two different credit cards so it will be more difficult to challenge with a bank. Pretty sneaky. When you need someone to host your website, trust important.

Is Scott Wittenberg paranoid to have his picture taken or distributed. He refuses to have any cameras inside his clients personal rack servers even though those cameras are designed to protect their own equipment from molestation. To be fair, many people might be worried someone might catch them doing something wrong, or something deceptive. Appearance is important to clients and deception can easily be caught and exposed. There is also evidence to suggest Scott is allegedly using the Internet to slur, scam, and otherwise defame his clients or former clients to satisfy his own personal grudges. This is not the sort of man you wan to trust with your computers in his own rack and Scott must know he cannot win this way.

If Scott Wittenberg wishes to continue his scams, blogs, or deception, then it's only fair we continue to report what we find and even what we have not yet reported, using multiple resorces. We don't wish to create problems for Scott but he must know he cannot continue this way as there are too many resources working against him, all of which is the truth. If Scott would like to show us where this is all wrong, any of it, he can easily contact us. We'll always try to correct any errors or misconceptions.

Until then, we contacted one of the users who completed a survey. The information is subject to error or bias and The Oregon Herald does not necessarily support t his finding. But this is what he had to say about Synapse Global and Scott Wittenberg:

You lost my business because from what I can tell, you have no discernable integrity. I cannot trust you. I had no choice but to remove you as my ISP because you were lying, cheating, and being a general nuisance. Do you actually think I’d let you get away with it? Your website is a joke. I know better. You don't have groomed woman answering the phone as you picture on your home page. It's just you there, Scott. You make it look as though you're a big company. Your home page looks like a big corporate setup but we both know only you answer the phone and you are there alone. It's all disguised to feel like a big company. But Scott, I'd prefer a small company but only if it was honest. That's the point you don't seem to get. You're a small, petty man who will do anything to get that extra buck. And that means lie and cheat.

In addition, the people where you were getting your bandwidth had to close you down for non-payment. Remember? I was there. I was out of business for a while because you did not pay your bill. They told me but you lied about that too. How can anyone trust you as an ISP, a bandwidth provider for any business when they cannot be sure they will also be closed down because you did not pay your bill?

But it is the deception from you, Scott, that makes this all so much worse. I cannot be around anyone I cannot trust. You charged me for overage when there was none. You can argue all you want. You know the truth. You say one thing then turn around and do the opposite. This has happened time and again, at my expense. You even admitted charges were unauthorized but still you did nothing. Some people call this theft.

I told you not to charge my credit card again but to bill me and any actual charges would be paid by check. The charges are therefore unauthorized and some charges were invalid. They will be disputed.

You agreed to refund charges but this has not been done.

And here’s a good example of how you say one thing, then do another. Notice that you totally contradict yourself from one day to another:

You must really think the world is stupid, Scott. The problem is that it is so easy to see where you are going. You’re a jerk who lies, who changes his mind only when it suits you, pretend you said one thing then do another, over and over again. You cannot be trusted. I had to get my computers out of your rack. I feared that you have gone so bad that you could do anything. From my experience, Scott, you’re a petty criminal. The problem is that most of us would have given you extra money if you had just been honest. But Scott, you are a dishonest man. You know it and so do the people that have been around you. The word is out. I’ve saved all my email since the very first time I exchanged messages with you.

You represent what is bad in the United States and in business. You would have received so much more from me if you had just been honest. You remind me of a used car salesman. The bad ones.

People should know the truth about you, your phony pictures of your business, your double-talk, your lies, theft, over charging, etc, etc, and everything else which is untrue.

You cannot be trusted. From what I've seen, anyone who would use your business is doing so because they're not too bright (as I was) or they had no choice.

Obviously this is not a scientific approach to the problem and opinions run amok especially when heated. In that regard we welcome any comments from any of these companies so we can set the record straight. If so, just use our contact from fount from our home page.

According to a nation-wide survey, one of the the most incompetent companies involved in web hosting on the web is Ace-Host Inc located at www.ace-host.net. Not only do the readers feel they are incompetent, but people feel they may also be acting in a criminal manner, lying to customers, taking their money, requiring additional information or copies of driver's license, copies of credit cards, and possibly copies of social security numbers. Who knows what these people are doing with your private information?

But according to former customers, that's not the biggest problem. If you manage to get beyond their sarcastic, mean spirited customer service and actually start using their services, you may end up with no support, a server crashing, no bandwidth, and no tech support when you need it.

If all this is true, it means at least one thing; Ace-Host.Net is not servicing the public well and anyone who may be looking for any kind of web hosting services should avoid Ace-Host.net, like the plague, because you'll probably be attacked by the most incredibly stupid, lazy, did I say incompetent, bunch of liars that ever existed online.

Out of 3500 votes cast in a survey, Ace-Host.net came in the lowest of the low, the most despised Web Hosting business operating as a larger business. Users who participated in the non-scientific survey seem to be in agreement that Ace-Host Inc tops the list as the worst web hosting business, with the rudest customer service reps, no way to call them to get help, no way to contact them when required. Those were the biggest complaints. Another was their down time, which, according to the survey, is much less than what Ace-Host Inc indicates.

According to the survey, who is responsible for this mess? None other than Jerald Darow, president and CEO of Acenet, Inc. With this kind of public relations disaster, he should fire his entire sales staff, and find other work. Corporate businesses wishing to entrust their servers or web hosting needs to Jerald Darow at Ace-Host.Net should find alternatives.

Coming in second, that is, the second worst larger web hosting company and just over the border of Oregon, is New Edge Networks out of Vancouver, Washington. According to the survey, they may have no clue on how to run a business or keep their customers up and running. Users who answered the survey said they experienced situations which were laughable. "How they get away with lying about actual bandwidth on bonded T1's, we have no idea." Conversations with our readers indicated their ace salesman, Lance Akins was found to lie and cheat just for a couple extra bucks. "Their president, Dan Moffat, cries like a child when something goes wrong".
