Aubra Salt was born in Portland, Oregon and attended school in Newberg, McMinnville, Yamhill, and Portland. He first worked as an electronics broadcast engineer then became a Journalist in the radio, television, and print media. He traveled and worked away from Oregon for more than twenty years then returned in the 1980's. He now lives with his wife outside Portland.
